Ada Passes Sabbath Ordinance Restricting Sunday Labor and Trade
Ordinance No 17 in Ada prohibits labor on Sunday within town limits except for continual railroad or manufacturing operations and certain religious observances. It bans shopping on the Christian Sabbath except for listed essentials and charity. Violations carry fines up to 25 dollars and games for money on Sunday are forbidden. Mayor Lor H. T. A ten year old blue mare mule, fifteen hands high, with left eye missing and a chain on the left fore foot was last seen wearing a chain. A $5 reward is offered for its recovery. Charley Wyatt struck Dr. Fred Nowlin with a billiard cue at the temple Tuesday night causing a painful wound. The doctor was unconscious for about four to five hours but is recovering steadily.
