Oklahoma Legislature Edges Toward Pollution Law Reforms
Oklahoma City legislative session yields only a half dozen environmental measures. An expanded Pollution Control Board gains nine members and broader powers yet lacks enforcement teeth. Other actions include notices for waste discharge, air pollution abatement authority, and potential Rust River pollution cooperation with Texas. Interim studies on pesticides, recycling, and noise control were approved, with many proposals carried to next year.
