Pasture improvement tour showcases brush and timber control
The Ada Farm and Ranch Club held an annual pasture improvement tour with 50 ranchers visiting four area ranches. Stops included Matthews ranch using hand cutting and spraying achieving about 90 percent brush control, and Lee Elliott ranch applying aerial spraying with near 100 percent effectiveness on sprayed areas.

Mrs. Ella Eugenia Young 89 of Ada died Thursday morning in a local hospital after almost 70 years in Ada. Born June 17 1874 in Dexter Texas she moved with family to Indian Territory at age 13 then to Lone Grove Ardmore and later Ada with her husband Jim R Young a former Ardmore grocer and rancher.
