The Associated Press reports a resumed German assault along a twenty mile front from north of Albert to the Avre river as British and French lines at Luce resist. Heavy bombardment and fighting on Somme positions continue with uncertain infantry dimensions.
Paris reports an extremely heavy German bombardment on the Franco British front from the Somme to the Avre river region around Hangard En San Terre and Villers Bretonneux. London notes strong German assaults in Dranoutre and the Albert sector repulsed by French troops with heavy losses to the attackers.
The Pontotoc county Odd Fellows Association schedules the Wil dey celebration in Ada on Friday the 26th with a full program. Morning includes visitor registration at the I O O F hall, 1:00 P M opening, 2:30 P M public meeting at City Hall, 4:15 P M reconvening, 6:00 P M adjournment, and 7:30 P M closing degrees. Oklahoma City April 24. C. C. and a negro deputy sheriff in Okfuskee County are charged with killing former Sheriff Wilson. He was brought to Oklahoma City and jailed to prevent mob violence. The county has a large Negro population with Boley as a major town. Chambers reportedly was intoxicated when Wilson was killed.
Fundraiser by the Egypt council of defense gathered $113.25 in boxes and $9.30 from a Red Cross cake sale for stamps and War relief. Speakers Chilcutt and Judge Busby praised efforts as women organized boxes and planned a sewing club. council meets Thursday the 25th and invites all district women. Marriage licenses issued to ten couples including Bond Isaac and Hewett Evans.
