Bids were opened on two flood control sites on Leader Middle Clear Boggy with a bid of 11646 for Site 34 and 37. Site 34 drains 4664 acres and Site 37 drains 4442 acres. Farm ponds are being constructed on farms of Bill Lane southwest of Vaness O A Alcom Galey Dub Story and Wayne Gray Ada and H M Miller north of Roff. Engineering surveys were completed by the Soil Conservation Service and financial assistance provided by the County Agricultural Conservation Service. Local farmers continue planting bermuda grass for pastures with more than 1000 acres already sown. last week’s plan includes Lee Langley Glen Fulton Olan Roberts Don Jemison Gene Standfield and others.
