Farm Bureau Sets Quarterly Meeting April 8 in Ada
Pontotoc County Farm Bureau schedules its regular quarterly meeting at Wintersmith Park Lodge in Ada for Monday night April 8. Pasture specialist R E Chiles and extension agronomist Gaylord Hanes will discuss Pastures in Pontotoc County and Fertilization of Small Grains Alfalfa and Other Field Crops with slides and cost analysis. Ben Theimer will report on the legislature relation to agriculture while Harold Devis invites all interested to attend at 7 30 p m. The Stonewall Sportsmen's Club also plans a meeting Monday April 8 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium with a film Oklahoma Goes Fishing.

County Land Judges Shine At Noble Meet
Pontotoc County youngsters won awards at the land judging contest sponsored by the Noble Foundation in Ardmore on Saturday March 30. Mike Lucas of Roff earned second high individual in the 4 H division and received a medal. The county 4 H team finished outside the prize positions. The Vanessa FFA team placed fourth in their division with David marking up the Pie ae Be eerd.

Crop Acreage Down and Milk Production Up
The Agricultural Marketing Service notes a down trend in crop acreage for 1987 the smallest since World War I due to the Soil Bank program while milk production rises nationwide. Milk cow numbers fell one percent from the previous year as of January 1 yet total output continues to grow.

Face Lifting Operation At Roff Park Brings Community Planting
About 65 workers gathered Friday, March 29, for a park beautification day at Roff Sportsmen's Park. Sponsored by the Roff Home Demonstration Club with Mrs. Harold Davis in charge, volunteers planted shrubs bulbs and flowers and hosted a noon picnic. The event featured contributions from many residents and included a new rose garden in the central space. The Stonewall junior class will present Ma Simpkins of Simpkinville on April 5 at 7 40 p.m.
