Pretty church wedding at Roff in crowded Methodist church

On a Sunday evening in Roff Mr. W B Crowden led Miss Lura Spencer to the Hymenial altar at the local Methodist church. The ceremony was short and impressive with roses and flowers adorning the building. A reception awaited the couple at their groom’s home.

Veterans Hold Rousing Meeting At Confederate Camp

The ex Confederates met at their headquarters Saturday afternoon and accepted Lieut G W Chisler as a member from a Ren Cabell letter. They voted to hold memorial services the first Sunday in January April July and October each year and planned a future picnic with corn bread and bacon to evoke old times.

Reverend Fife to Start Meeting at Local Church

Reverend Roger H. Fife will begin a meeting at the Christian church in two to three weeks after currently concluding a successful series in Texarkana.

Wreck Halts Oklahoma Central Train Near Ada

A west bound Oklahoma Central train derailed about four miles east of Ada. Passengers walked into town to complete their journey as officials assess the cause and repairs. A passenger suggested the derailment aimed to reach a smoother stretch of track.

Patch of strawberries yields eighty dollars this year

W. M. Ledford reports a 27 by 28 yard strawberry patch from which he has sold $80 worth of berries already and expects more sales this year. He planted the crop as an experiment and plans larger-scale planting next year.

City Council Proceedings Details Budget and Contracts

The Monday session lacked Mr. Chambless as the mayor and council attended. Bills allowed include Ada Electric and Gas Co. May 253.75 and others. An ordinance to furnish power for the pumping station via Ada Electric and Gas Co. was read twice. A St Louis and San Francisco Ry price of 25 per month for three lights was approved. Resignations and contracts for city hall rent, dumping ground, and street work were authorized.
