Opera House Planned for Ada at $10000 Proposal
A local business firm plans to submit at the next 25 000 Club meeting a proposal to erect a modern opera house in Ada at a cost of 10 000 dollars excluding the lot. The plan includes selling 900 opening night seats at five dollars and completing construction by September 15. The site location would be decided jointly with club members.

Refused Indictment for Mrs. Mary Brooks in Dr. Davenport Killing
Federal grand jury in Ardmore declined to indict Mrs. Mary E. Brooks of Francis for the killing of Dr. Davenport found shot near Francis. She had been held on suspicion after being linked by circumstantial evidence and released on bond awaiting grand jury action.

Noted Soldier Capt. Peter Maytubby Dies Near Caddo
Yesterday Governor Byrd learned of the death at his home near Caddo of Capt. Peter Maytubby a prominent Chickasaw leader and former Confederate Army captain. His passing removes the last captain of the Choctaw regiment and he served the Chickasaw Nation in multiple roles including its representative on the Dawes Commission.

The Democratic county executive committee met at the mayor’s office to finalize primary actions. An election committee will arrange ballot boxes booths and ticket printing while a second committee handles emergencies.
