C S Aldrich announces plans to erect a three story building on the former Peay hotel site at Townsend and 12th. The corner location is described as ideal and a good building there should be a paying investment.
Mr. Sam Mayfield visited Ada on Sunday as did Mrs. Agnes Allen and Mr. James Staggs. Mr. Lee Comstock went to Ravia Sunday and Mrs. Pat Grigsby to Stonewall Friday. Mrs. W. R. Bonds visited Ada on Wednesday. Sunday school met with good attendance. Gertrude Wormington from Ada spent the day with Mr. Fain. Lillie Comstock of Ravia moved near here on J. C. Allen’s farm Wednesday. Mrs. Frank Mayfield visited Ada Sunday to be with her mother, Mrs. Davenport.
Wade Allison from Conway is in town this week to attend court proceedings.
The district court disposed cases including arson four years for M D Chapel and four years for Dick Birdwell. Sam Dobbs admitted stealing a domestic animal while Jno Foster and K O Chestnutt were dismissed. Harley Hudson pleaded guilty to stealing a domestic animal. Rance Jones was not guilty on theft of a domestic animal. Major Tate found guilty of disposing of mortgaged property. George Culver trial for shooting incident with Mitchell to be empanelled. Bill Nutts postponed due to injury from a recent shooting.
Senate committee reports favorably on Senator Roddie's bill to appropriate 48000 dollars for the Ada normal. House committee previously filed an unfavorable report but may reconsider in light of the senate action. Subscribe for the Democrat.
W B Jones, Ada city clerk, announces candidacy for Register of Deeds as a Democrat. A longer notice to follow in next week’s issue.
Francis welcomed Pontotoc county teachers for a two day institute with Prof. C. H. Roberts lecture on Oklahoma, music by Mrs. Bean's class, and student work exhibits. Supt. Pierce called it the best meeting yet. a noon luncheon and toast program followed before plans moved to the April Ada gathering.
Presiding Judge Furman left Guthrie for Fort Worth and southern points for a few weeks vacation by physician order. Since starting the trip he has limited leisure and now must be away from work to protect his health, the Guthrie Leader reports.
The Democrat reports a wireless telephone test where a receiving device heard clearly through a brick wall from the transmitting room. The piece suggests soon people may move beyond street notes and use wireless notes for communication.

Monday night the home of R. M. Cummings on West 14th street burned with all its contents. The family were away. Cummings was in Texas for health, others at Ardmore. The fire company fought the blaze but could not stop it.
The Oklahoma criminal court of appeals, led by Judge T H Doyle, upholds sixty Cherokee County liquor convictions. In an habeas corpus case, William Dodson, Henry Parris, and Fred Walker faced multiple prohibitory law charges. indictments were dismissed on demurrer, then Informations followed. Judge Doyle denied the habeas corpus relief. Judge Owen dissented. About fifty seven related cases pending the decision.
Donaghey Addition property owners petitioned for sewer lines to reach the area. Three lines will run to the city limits along alleys between 8th 9th and 10th streets, with work expected to start soon. Hardin and Blanks plan waterworks extension, while the Guest brothers advertise and face critique for their mug images.
