Supt Robison requests notice of a mothers club to be organized at Sunrise school this afternoon at 3 30. The mothers club of Northside school will meet at the North school building at the same hour.
Willis N Gibson advertises shoe repair at Chapman's shoe store with prompt service and low prices. The ad claims modern equipment and urges customers to mend shoes to extend wear and save money, invoking the saying a stitch in time saves nine.
The Oklahoma Portland Cement Co. held its annual stockholders and directors meeting on Tuesday. Non-resident stockholders Hart er and Cunningham of Oklahoma City attended. others were represented by proxy. The old board was re elected, and the new kiln began operation doubling capacity to 2000 barrels per day. The company also reports artesian well drilling at Lawrence quarries reached 700 feet with strong water flow.
W C Bridwell formerly of Cleveland Oklahoma visits Ada this week exploring starting a Republican newspaper. He shows optimism about the venture and may soon publish a journal in Ada opening.
The Hustler records that railway mail service to Allen will start February 7. This will bring relief to residents of Allen and nearby Ada by improving mail delivery and accessibility.
Little progress since the last issue as the Ada well at about 1200 feet caved and is being cased. Drilling to resume soon with expectations of oil and gas flow between 1500 and 1700 feet. A recent Sunday visit showed oil in the slush bucket and a steady gas flame, with Mr. Greenlees planning to drill at Jack Fork next.
Tomorrow at three o'clock the Adams normal girls team plays Shawnee at City Hall. Authorities predict an exciting clash and a highlight of the season.
The Creager bill pending in congress would wind up tribal affairs and sell segregated mineral lands but leaves undecided how to dispose of unallotted lands. Creager says he opposes selling these lands at this time.

At about three o clock Wednesday afternoon Joe Kemp was struck by a Frisco switch engine at the main street crossing. He was knocked to the bridge and his left arm mashed. He received prompt medical care and the arm was amputated yesterday morning. He is resting well and a speedy recovery is expected.

A Tuesday evening meeting of town businessmen at the club rooms discussed the summer session needs of the normal. Prof. Briles presented requirements and the group pledged between 200 and 300 dollars to support the program.

R D Miers organized a 12 member W O W camp, totaling 35 in two weeks. L Salla and wife of Hennipen and Chas Seales and wife of Panda visit the Fischbeck family. Plowing services offered by H A Wilson near Townsend Ave. L Rucker and Will Meharg report dry weather hurts potato crops and reduced acreage this season.
J J Hallmark is constructing a residence while John F Hallmark adds forty acres of land at Moller. A gin man sought a site at Moller as railway mail service starts on the M O G February 7. Hallmark traveled from Moller, Lula’s new town, with two business houses rising and another soon to begin a two story lodge room.
Finishing touches on plans for the Odd Fellow building at 12th and Townsend, with construction to start in two to three weeks. W H Rayburn F S Houpt Reed Johnson to build adjoining structures, plus R Tobin’s block farther west. Five houses on 12th Street begin the street’s rise with prospect of more from M L Saylers and others. Verily 12th street is coming to the front.
The Board of County Commissioners seeks a responsible person to care for county paupers. If housing is short, tents will be provided. The commissioners will hold their next meeting on Monday February 7.
Postmaster Young notes Ada office issued 6 241 money orders in 1909 totaling 35 777 83 dollars. Cashing orders paid out roughly equal to the amount sent out by Ada patrons. Only a few foreign money orders were issued and their value was small.
