Fire swept the Stratford post office and adjoining mercantile shop and drug store early Sunday, destroying the building and contents. Isaac Young’s groceries and J L Davis’ drug stock were lost, with only cash drawer silver missing, suggesting arson. Mrs Eldridge’s adjoining frame building also burned.

Two men naming themselves Bolin and Rainey were arrested on a train between Ada and Madill by the Fran cis marshal on a charge of robbing a fellow passenger of $30. They were brought to Ada and turned over to federal officers.
