The company announces a voluntary profit sharing plan for employees. Dividends depend on earnings, production costs, and net selling prices per barrel, varying with profits and can be discontinued if financials require. Employees are urged to protect company property and control costs to boost potential dividends, signed by ADAM L. BECK and WM. L. WHITAKER.
The Democrat reports A. B. Yeager is laid up at home with malaria and unable to assist this week.
The Oklahoma Corporation Commission reduced freight rates on Ada portland cement. shipments from Ada to Oklahoma City will pay eight and two tenths cents per hundred, while shipments to Guthrie are ten and four tenths cents per hundred. The order targets the Oklahoma Central and Santa Fe railroads.
In Seminole County the state senate race remained close as the official count showed Roddie with 515 votes and Davis trailing closely behind in a neck and neck tally.
James Copeland of the Democrat faction is recuperating this week and visiting relatives in the southern portion of the state.
The Pontotoc county Democrats held a mass convention on Tuesday to elect delegates to the state convention. Dr. G. H. Truax chaired the meeting with FE. S. Ratliff as secretary and a five member committee appointed to nominate delegates. A lengthy list of delegates was approved for several named towns and counties.
The Democratic County Committee met after the convention and re elected chairman H Byron Norrell and secretary Geo Thompson of Jesse. With precincts sparse on filing, vacancies will be filled on club recommendations while old members stay in place. The panel will reconvene after the state committee outlines its campaign plan.
The city council appointed Geo V West to fill the unexpired term of Geo Culver. The selection is praised as the best possible choice. West is described as of unimpeachable character and pledged to perform his duties without fear or favor.
The official count lists first district candidates Hunt 306 Lambert 292 Rinard 260 Thompson 144. In the second district Montgomery 445 Eaton 47 Flood 436. In the third district Richardson 242 Short 211 Townsend 136 Carter 109.
Delegates heard remarks from T. D. McKeown C. O. Barton E. S. Ratliff C. W. Briles and Robt Wimbish during deliberations. R M Roddie moved a resolution reaffirming party principles and endorsing the current state administration, which passed unanimously without discussion.
Judge West heard G. P. Carney and others against the city council over a street paving contract. A temporary injunction blocks further work until a $25,000 bond is filed. The case resumes next week at Coalgate for final action.
J. F. Hooper of New Bethel, en route to Holdenville, reports crops in his area are the best ever observed this season.
Mr J H Fugate and Miss Sallie McCain were married Tuesday afternoon at 4 30 in the Methodist parsonage with Rev W M Wilson officiating. The ceremony was witnessed by Miss Minnie McCain Frank McCain and Miss Jennie Roddie. The groom works at a bank in Binger Oklahoma and the bride is the daughter of Mrs L J McCain. The Democrat extends its best wishes.
In the Allen township primary the following gentlemen were nominated Grandel for Justice of the Peace Butler for Constable Harrell for Trustee and Crabtree for Clerk.
C. W. Goree of Southern Industrial Co spoke with Ada Industrial Co about locating a $100,000 garment factory in Ada. The proposal includes a $10,000 bonus if 80 acres of Huddleston land are made available. Ada officials agreed, and the project could create about ninety jobs.
The latest marriage license notices list J. R. Redman age 21 and Sadie Odom age 20 of Ahloso. Samuel Carter 66 of Dolberg with Jane McDaniel 65 of Dolberg. Ethel Floyd of Ahloso 18. J. H. Fugate 22 of Binger and Sallie McCain 21 of Ada. O. S. Lindsey 26 of Fitzhugh and Ida Gray 26 of Ada. The summer widowers club adds Rev. J. D. White, and Mrs White left for Brighton Tennessee to visit her mother earlier this week.
Clint Palmer returned from a trip to Jack County Texas where he found crops lagging compared with those in his own area. He states the local crops show a stronger yield and health.
The Texas Department Store announces a rapid clearance sale of all furniture from the furniture department at factory cost or less. Buyers must act quickly as the sale closes Saturday and the building must be vacated.
The Gouge brothers faced a preliminary hearing before Justice Brown on horse stealing charges with bail set at $2,000 each. Unable to meet bail, they were remanded to jail. H T Gilliam was arraigned on a similar charge and posted a $3,000 bond.
