Additions give Jonas home a style of its own
Dr. William Church built this Gothic Revival house in 1873 and sold it to Mary and Albert Brackett in 1874. The Brackett residence shows the restrained simplicity of a Midwest T‑form farmhouse. Albert Brackett was a representative for several piano and organ companies. The home has seen many additions, including a late 1990s Great Room expansion and removal of a backyard pool in 2000. Whitney Jonas acquired it in 2007 and reshaped interiors with Greek Revival tones, modern porch, updated windows, a redesigned entry with a 1920s chandelier, restored stair brackets, and a country family room with a wood stove and barn beam mantle.
