Marshall High teams open season strong in cross country and tennis
Marshall High School teams began the season with strong showings across cross country and tennis. Coach Steve Wissink notes the girls top three starts with freshmen Abby St John and Ava Klein helping at Barney Roy Invitational, while captains Hannah Koch and Abbey Askes drive the squad. On the boys side, coach Mary Hovarter praises the Big Hill Climb win and Barney Roy runner up as senior Chris Bell leads a times-improving group with several athletes posting PBs. Marshall tennis also shows depth as junior Cole Varvatos leads a veteran lineup, with Brownell crediting experience for optimism this season.
