Michigan MDCH wins grant to fight obesity in Detroit and Grand Rapids

A three year 1.5 million grant from HRSA to MDCH funds a team based care plan for overweight and obese patients at two university affiliated nurse managed clinics Wayne State University Campus Health Center and Grand Valley State University Family Health Center. Partners include Wayne State College of Nursing Grand Valley Office of the Vice Provost for Health Kirkhof College of Nursing Michigan Area Health Education Center and Michigan Health Council. The program trains nursing social work and dietetics students while expanding clinical services and tracking patient outcomes to improve primary care statewide.
