Merlin Shaver of Jackson a life of service and art
Merlin Shaver, a Michigan native born in Jackson, traces American heritage to the Mayflower. A lifelong exhibitor of public service, he urges constant flag display and has held varied careers from Ford dealer to parts manager, garage owner, and metal sculptor. He and his wife June, married 67 years, have 86 descendants and endure illness with care, while Merlin continues to inspire communities with talks, art, and poetry.
