Greater Albion Chamber and Visitors Bureau invites artists to submit a high resolution logo for the 50th Anniversary Festival of the Forks. Prize is 400 dollars. Deadline March 18. Submissions must include contact details and be sent by email to Amy Robertson. Winning design announced by March 31.
LANSING Albion and the Mayor's Youth Leadership Council honor Sen. Mike Nofs R Battle Creek with a proclamation naming him a Diversity Champion. Nofs says the Albion community has set an outstanding example for the state while he aided education funding and school consolidation efforts in Albion and nearby Marshall.
Albion marks 100 years of Troop 158 BSA service since 1916 with a March 19 ceremony at Bohm Theater followed by a parade to the Methodist Church for lunch and an open house. Troop 158 has fostered scouts including at risk youth through leadership and the Scout Law under Scoutmaster Dave Farley.
Homer Elementary invites future kindergartners and parents to a March 10 6 to 7 p.m. event at 291 W Fulton St Homer. Attendees explore classrooms meet teachers learn about daily routines readiness tips and registration. Each child receives a free book and staff answer questions. Call 517 568 4452 for details.
