Hughes Elementary 5th graders raised funds during the year with PCO support and presented a $1,000 check to Sherman Lake Camp at the June 9 Celebration Assembly. The gift honors former Hughes student Kari Jolink Searles, praising her camp work and dedication to students.

New affiliation brings Cancer Center and Institute to Marshall
Oaklawn Hospital joins the West Michigan Cancer Center and Institute for Blood Disorders in a formal affiliation. Dr Muhammad Rafi will join Oaklawn's Marshall Oaklawn Campus July 20, offering bone marrow biopsy plasma exchange and thoracentesis. Vincent Shen will continue seeing patients in the same office.
