Albion strengthens youth STEM through Hoaglin Fund grant
The Albion Community Foundation awarded Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan $718 from the Jack Hoaglin Family Fund to back Brain STEM outreach in Albion. The fund, started in 1999 to aid Albion youth with emphasis on girls science education, supports local programs and lifelong community initiatives.

Registration 5 30 p m tee off 6 15 p m includes nine holes cart nacho bar grill shrimp burgers door prizes live entertainment and raffles with proceeds aiding CIR programs and a Masters trip raffle for two.

Mallory Sheehy and Lance McCreary announce their engagement. Mallory, daughter of Mike Sheehy and Mary Campbell of Battle Creek, earned an associate degree and works for the Michigan Air National Guard. Lance, son of Jerry McCreary and Melba Jackson, studies at Kellogg Community College and Miller College, employed as a loss prevention officer and a firefighter. An August 28, 2010 wedding is planned in Marshall. their daughter Haidyn will be flower girl and Logan will be ring bearer.
