Kids N Stuff Children’s Museum hosts an adult only event titled A Night of Magic and Muggles on August 19 from 6 to 9 PM. Registration opens July 31 with tickets at $25. Participants may cosplay and compete in costume contests and shop at vendor stalls while enjoying food from Whiskful Thinking.
Sgt Mike Kolassa of the Albion Department of Public Safety is named Public Safety Employee of the Month for 19 years of service and his role in onboarding new officers. The city thanks him for outstanding service.
Albion residents learn about community recreation options at the Albion Community Center. Open Swim is available for ages 18 and under on Monday and Thursday from 3 30 to 4 30 p m for a $1 fee. Calhoun County Water Resources Commissioner Fred Heaton spoke to Rotary Club of Albion explaining his bid to cut costs for residents and county drains. Heaton reviews each project and re-bids when bids are too high, saving money. He coordinates with the Road Commission to reduce expenses for the county drains. The office oversees 500 drains and 750 miles of drains and answers member questions about local locations. Rotary meets Thursdays at Cascarelli's. contact president Mike Bearman for attendance.
