Downtown Marshall teems with visitors this summer as Second Saturdays draw crowds for street art music and gallery tours. Fourth of July events Cruise to the Fountain Blues Festival and Reuben contest draw crowds while a restored fountain renews local pride.
Brookside Surgery Center hosts a free open house August 12 2009 from 3 to 7 p.m. at 3600 Capital Ave SW first floor Brickyard Building celebrating 12 years serving the community. Attendees can tour the facility win door prizes and receive health screenings while Battle Creek Police offer child fingerprinting and hands on vehicle displays. Local station Win 98.5 broadcasts live refreshments included.
Marshall Michigan Avenue from East Drive to Cherry Street designated a Michigan Historic Heritage Route. Marshall is the third community to receive the honor. The Marshall Recreation Department and guide Susan Collins invite the public to a walking tour this Tuesday July 28 at 7 p.m. to learn Marshall's role in state history including government education abolition railroads and unionism.
