Marshall man joins baseball dream team in memory and legacy
Ivan Fleser, a lifelong Marshall resident born September 10, 1919 in Burnips Michigan, is praised for honesty and gentleness while recounting a life that blends public service and baseball excellence. He attended Western Michigan University, earned a master’s at the University of Michigan, served as a Navy pilot in World War II, and later coached and counseled in Marshall Public Schools from 1953 to 1982. The piece notes his family, education, and deep ties to Michigan, Alaska, and Maine through his daughter and grandchildren.
