A 55 year old Marshall man is suspected of indecent exposure near 400 block of S Marshall Ave. Witnesses describe him riding a bicycle, stopping in front of a home, unbuckling his pants and exposing himself to several women and children including a 17 year old girl and a 13 year old girl. Police were called after the incident at 3 30 p m on July 6.
The 22 year old described as excited by the act faced multiple witnesses from July 9 and May 24 incidents at Ketchum Park and nearby areas. Police seized clothing and a bicycle, and the suspect, a registered sex offender, admitted to the lewd act. Pending warrants include indecent exposure and sexual deviant charges with a prosecutor review, amid prior nursing home and park confrontations.
Calhoun County deputies answered a felonious assault call on July 5 in Convis Two. A 20 year old Vermontville man was assaulted. the suspect, a 20 year old Convis Two man, is being sought as warrants are pursued for felonious assault marijuana manufacture delivery and firearm charges.
Deputies responded to a foreclosed residence on Bellevue Road in Convis Township after a passerby reported an animal cruelty at 11 36 a.m. Four severely undernourished pit bulls were found confined amid feces. The former occupant, a 40 year old Battle Creek woman, admitted ownership and weekly care. Dogs transported to Irwin Avenue Veterinary Hospital for treatment. A warrant for animal cruelty will be sought. suspect name withheld pending charges.
A 32 year old Marshall woman drove east on Michigan Avenue near Linden Street at 3 30 p m July 14 and crossed into oncoming traffic hitting a utility pole breaking it in half. The driver awoke at the scene with a head bump and was transported to Oaklawn Hospital. She cited sleep deprivation and a suspended license and received a citation with court date July 29.
Calhoun County deputies responded to a firearms incident in Sheridan Township on July 11 at 3 46 p m. Two 17 year old men were involved in an argument. One retrieved a handgun from home and fired one shot missing the fleeing victim. The suspect was taken into custody after deputies searched the area and found additional evidence including marijuana growing at the scene.
