S A F E Place was awarded a $10000 grant from the Marshall Community Foundation to aid domestic violence victims and their children. From March to June the funds helped 170 clients, including 75 children, with shelter, services, counseling, legal advocacy, and outreach programs.
Albion hosts the tenth Healthy Babies Day on Sept. 15 at the Albion Community Center 225 East Watson Street. The free event runs 1 to 1 30 p.m with registration closing at 1 p.m. Lunch is provided. Parents expectant and caregivers of children up to 18 months from Albion and surrounding areas are invited to learn about car seat safety crib safety crying choking growth nutrition and local health resources.
