The suspect posed as an employee and requested a payroll direct deposit change via a fraudulent email, providing new account details. $266.44 was deposited to the suspect’s account before discovery. case under investigation pending bank record review and follow-up.

On December 26 at about 6 15 p m a subject turned in a purse to Marshall officers in front of Redfield Plaza on Michigan Avenue. The owner was identified and contacted. Four arrested after attempted marijuana robbery in Marshall
On December 28 at 9 30 p m Marshall Police responded to N Mulberry Street for an armed robbery report. A 21 year old victim said he was robbed while planning to sell marijuana. three suspects fled in a car. The vehicle was stopped by a Michigan State Police trooper in Battle Creek just after midnight December 29. Four suspects including two 19 year olds from Battle Creek a 17 year old and a 21 year old from Marshall were detained. A starter pistol was found in the vehicle. The four were interviewed and jailed in Calhoun County on armed robbery charges with MSP CCSD and BCPD assisting.
