Michigan State Police investigate a three vehicle fatal crash on M-66 near Glenn Cross at 2:35 p.m. February 24. Six year old Harlyn Radley died after being injured in the rear seat of the southbound car. her mother Heather Radley and others were hospitalized. Authorities cite speed and heavy blowing snow as factors with no drugs or alcohol suspected. Leroy and Newton Two fire departments assisted along with LifeCare and a nurse who performed CPR.

Man threatens and chases girlfriend with knife
Marshall police responded to an assault in the 500 block of North Driver on February 19. A 40-year-old woman and her 20-year-old son spoke with officers. the woman’s 50-year-old Battle Creek boyfriend threatened her with a knife, grabbed her phone, and chased her around the house. He fled before officers arrived. Charges of assault with a dangerous weapon and interfering with 911 were filed, with the investigation open until the suspect is arrested.
