Traffic stop leads to drug arrest in Marshall
On February 19 a traffic stop at Brewer Street near Hobart Street led to a probable cause search of a vehicle. Officers found narcotics and drug paraphernalia. A 20 year old and an 18 year old received misdemeanor citations for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. The third occupant was not charged. All released with court dates. Case remains open pending further investigation and court proceedings.

Embezzlement charge sought after Partello Rd incident
Marshall Police Department investigated a report of an 8 year old female employee taking money from the till at the 18000 block of Partello Rd. The suspect returned some of the money. A warrant request for embezzlement charges is being sent to the Calhoun County Prosecutor for review.

Drug and alcohol charges at skate park
At about 9 p.m. a Marshall Police Department officer found two 18-year-old males at the skate park working on a bicycle. He detected marijuana odor and found one male in possession of marijuana, paraphernalia, and alcohol. He received misdemeanor citations and was released. case open pending court proceedings.

Women's Philanthropic Circle Meets March 13
The Marshall Women's Philanthropic Circle will meet 5 30 p m Monday March 13 at Schuler's Restaurant. Dinner with a cash bar costs 16 includes entrée a St Patrick's Day dessert and gratuity. Teresa Allen executive director of the Charitable Union will explain the December gift impact, with Randy Lake of Great Escape Stage Company and Patty Parker of the Food Bank of Southwest Michigan also speaking. Since December 2007 the circle has donated over 185000 to 15 area 501 c 3 groups.

Home Invasion Charged After Feb 5 Incident
Marshall Police report a home invasion on February 5 in which a 60 year old victim says her daughter's 20 year old boyfriend kicked in the front door and assaulted his 19 year old girlfriend. Charges for home invasion and assault are being sought by the Calhoun County Prosecutor's Office.

Assault charges issued to couple in domestic incident
Marshall Police Department officers responded to a domestic assault at 1200 Arms Street. A 31 year old woman and her 35 year old boyfriend admitted to assaulting each other and reported minor injuries. Warrant requests for assault charges were sent to the county prosecutor for review.
