Tough budget tightening eyed by Marshall Public Schools
Marshall Public Schools face further cuts as enrollment declines drive a looming $1 million shortfall for 2012-13 and beyond. Finance Director Scott Blankinship warned the five-year outlook could drop to a negative $6.2 million in 2016 unless restructuring occurs. He noted 60 fewer students projected next year, urged honest planning, and discussed possible state intervention with monthly reports and a two-year deficit elimination plan.
