The Marshall Public Schools Board votes to place a two question bond before voters next May. A roughly 22 million dollar issue covers five district schools, while a second question asks for an expanded Marshall High School auditorium estimated between 89 million and the project’s final cost.
Marshall High School winter teams were active before break with a double overtime 51 49 win by the boys varsity basketball team over Albion. The Redhawk wrestling team opened at home against Sturgis and the boys swimming and diving squad captured the Marshall Quad title over Sturgis Harper Creek and Battle Creek Central. Navy Seaman Jordan A Burdette, son of Brenda Burdette of 12 Mile Road Ceresco, involved in a humanitarian exercise aiding Kitgum Uganda.
Lorna Llewellyn of Marshall teams with her great grandchildren Kara Hulce and Ava Winstone to create gift cookies for Christmas. The 11 and 7 year olds assist in a family tradition that yields over 90 cookie varieties for loved ones. See story on page 47.
