At 10:16 p.m. on November 23 Marshall officers found an intoxicated 39 year old man and a 43 year old woman at Riverside Pub. After arranging safe rides home, the male subject returned to argue with officers, refused to leave, and became aggressive. He was taken into custody for disorderly conduct and lodged at Calhoun County Jail.
Marshall Police Department and other agencies joined No Shave November to raise funds for local groups. MPD donated the collected funds to Marengo Non denominational Community Church, with Lt Josh Lankerd presenting the check to church members.
For the week of November 1925 the Marshall Police Department recorded six arrests including possession of marijuana assault on officer resisting and obstructing and damage to police property. There were two traffic arrests four warrants and sixty three traffic stops with nine citations. Six accidents were reported with the traffic enforcement zone focusing on downtown Michigan Ave near West Drive during November 22 28.
Marshall officers responded to a business in the 400 block of S Linden for a larceny reported at 8 07 am on November 8. Items missing include a torque wrench power lifting mechanization power washer a GE microwave vehicle keys and other tools. On November 22 around 2 a.m. a Marshall officer stopped a 24 year old male for swerving and crossing the center line. He showed signs of intoxication and failed sobriety tests before being arrested for operating while intoxicated. At 2:33 a.m. officers stopped a second vehicle on Brewer Street for speeding. The 27 year old driver smelled of intoxicants and failed field evaluations, then was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and jailed in Calhoun County.
An older female victim paid a contractor $5500 in July for a job on S Marshall Ave. The 42-year-old suspect admitted intent to repay but no work has been completed and no funds returned. Case remains open awaiting charges review by the Marshall City Attorney's Office.
Marshall officers respond to 200 block Winston Drive for damage to property. Suspect, a 40 year old male, left angrily and maliciously damaged the front main entry door. damage estimated at 300 dollars. No charges pursued per victim request. Door repaired. incident documented and closed.
Police responded to a fight on Pearl Street near 400 block at 1 24 a m. The dispute involved a 47 year old man and a 45 year old woman. No serious injuries or arrests. The assault remains under investigation.
An 83-year-old woman reported funds missing from her purse. The purse theft occurred around 11 a.m. on November 19 in the 200 block of Winston Drive, with nearly $80 taken over the prior two weeks. Police ask for information via Marshall Police or Silent Observer.
A 26 year old Marshall woman reported fraud on November 19 in the 600 block of E Prospect. An email posing as her boss requested gift card purchases, totaling 300 dollars, and the victim sent the card numbers by email. The case remains under investigation.
A 77 year old man reported to Marshall police a fraud incident on Alcott Street. He was deceived into depositing a check and then withdrawing funds, believing a fictitious subject and company obtained his bank account information. The case remains open pending further investigation.
