On August 12 at 6 13 p m deputies investigated a two car personal injury crash at 26 Mile Road and 1 Dr N in Sheridan Two The westbound Dodge Caravan driven by a 71 year old Battle Creek man pulled into the path of a northbound 1998 Lincoln Town car driven by a 21 year old Battle Creek man An infant in the Caravan seated in the second row suffered minor injuries and was treated on scene The Battle Creek woman in the Caravan had minor injuries and was cited The infant’s injuries were minor and no other injuries were reported

Deputy hospitalized after drunk driver rear ends patrol car
On August 13 at 12 14 a.m. near Roosevelt and North in Pennfield two Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office vehicles conducted a traffic stop. A drunken 46 year old woman struck the deputy’s vehicle, causing a chain collision that sent the deputy’s car spinning. The deputy was treated and released for minor injuries at Bronson of Battle Creek. The other driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated causing injury and jailed after medical care. The crash remains under investigation with Lifecare and Pennfield Fire Department assisting.

Driver cited after I-94 crash tied to distracted driving
A truck driver was cited after a crash on I-94 that blocked one lane for about an hour. The driver told deputies he was on his cell phone and not paying attention when the collision occurred. The vehicle was transported to Oaklawn Hospital by Jack son Community Ambulance for injuries.
