Torch Run Peace Run Aims To Unite Nations In 160 Nations
The Peace Run travels through over 1,000 cities with an estimated 50,000 children taking part as runners share educational talks on self esteem and humanity. Since 1987 more than 7 million participants have joined the four month journey across multiple continents ending back in New York by mid August. The event has drawn tributes from Pope Francis and leaders like Mandela and Gorbachev while Carl Lewis calls it a bridge between cultures and nations. Inspired by Sri Chinmoy the run embodies walking the road to peace rather than merely speaking of it.
