Marshall Area Farmers Market Opens May 5 Outdoor season set
The Marshall Area Farmers Market begins on May 5 with over 30 vendors expected. Organizer Lynne Meservey notes the market runs Saturdays through October at the Green Street site by the Marshall District Library, drawing about 700 to 800 weekly attendees and a last year turnout of roughly 18,000. Jordan Edwards, 14, of Battle Creek, promotes J.J.s Sweet Treats with carrot cupcakes and lemon pound cake, having won last year’s Kellogg Arena showcase and aiming for a pastry career.
