Calhoun County authorities report three complaints of an advance fee fraud targeting Craigslist buyers and sellers. Victims receive overpayment checks and are pressured to cash them and wire the excess funds. Beware texting or emailing criminals and insist on phone contact before any deposit. Contact the sheriff at 269 781 0880 with concerns.
Deputies investigated an Emmett Township crash on 1 94 at 11 Mile Road on April 18 at 2 30 pm. A Tecumseh couple on a motorcycle collided with a westbound semi at entry to 1 94 from 11 Mile Road. The 47 year old male rider was taken to Bronson Kalamazoo by ambulance. The 52 year old female passenger was helicoptered to Bronson Kalamazoo for serious injuries. Both wore helmets. Cause under investigation. Assist by Life Care Emmett Township Public Safety Fire Michigan State Police Battle Creek Police and Tribal Police.
