April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month in Michigan
Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette designates April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month and urges continued education, reporting, and justice. He notes ongoing investigations into 2009 Wayne County testing of sexual assault kits, the 2015 Detroit kit results, and the 2016 conviction from abandoned kits. The effort highlights broad victim support and statewide testing of over 1,000 untested kits, with facts on the nature and prevalence of sexual assault.
