Betsy Hubbard's Olivet classroom earned two grants this year from the Binda Foundation and Calhoun ISD and Olivet Community School funds. The grants provide five and four Chromebooks respectively, boosting tech use for math, writing, and project work. Students engage with blogging Padlet and topic research, improving typing, navigation, and collaboration.
Olivet Community Schools will present Awaken the Senses the 2017 Arts Festival on April 27 at the district auditorium. The art gallery opens at 6 30 p m and doors at 6 45 p m with performances starting at 7 p m featuring high and middle school instrumentalists vocalists theatre and visual artists from Fern Person Elementary.
Riley Van Peete and Cameron Cobley named Students of the Month for March at Mar Lee School for honesty. They received plaques and medals at the April Board of Education meeting. Addison Waite and Alex Esterline were also nominated. Ian Schnaitman of Quality Engraving in Marshall thanked for ongoing donations to the award.
