Storyteller Dick Strader to weave tales in Battle Creek
Willard Library Battle Creek hosts storyteller Dick Strader on Thursday April 23 at 7 p.m. in the meeting room. The free program appeals to all ages and Strader discusses how storytelling grew from his 1980s role as a Marshall Public Schools library media specialist. He recounts a career in Michigan public schools and libraries focused on children, now with adult storytelling. The event titled Get Creative with Storytelling features folktales from world cultures and audience participation. Strader and his wife Veroneze live in Battle Creek and volunteer with local organizations including the Food Bank Voices of Peace and JONAH. They have two married children and four grandchildren.
