Election costs may cost Conservatives seats in October
High property taxes emerge as a key issue for the Halton riding in the October 17 election. George Kerr MPP warns the matter could cost the governing Conservatives seats at a Conservative gathering in Oakville. Liberal candidate Robin Skuce campaigns with door to door canvassing in Drumquin and fair circuits in Milton. Halton West Liberal Jack Lush opens his Burlington campaign HQ at 393 Brant St with about 50 supporters. Rev Peter Brouwer ordained at Georgetown CRC
Rev Pierre Brouwer was ordained as pastor of the Christian Reformed Church in a service led by Rev J Joosse of New Market. The sermon by Rev J Nutma of Bowmanville referenced John 3 29 and six ministers participated in the laying on of hands. Congregation sang. Family, local clergy, and visiting guests attended. Brouwer and his wife with six children had moved from Brampton and Hamilton to Georgetown.

Two Car Collisions In North Halton Area
Milton O P P reports two motor vehicle accidents in the north Halton area involving Acton and Limehouse residents. On Sunday a two car crash on Highway 7 at Seventh Line injured Peter Hoekstra and Audrey Hoekstra with knee chin and nose injuries. Hoekstra’s car sustained 900 dollars damage and a Brown vehicle 500 dollars. On Friday near Seventh Line a collision between Ursula Niesczek and Willard Thompson caused 1100 dollars in vehicle damage, plus a 200 dollar hydro pole damage.
