Liberal leaders visit Acton for main street politicking
NDP Liberal leaders led by Joe Sellars of Brampton walked Acton’s Mill Street on Tuesday morning for a main street campaign stop. Robert Nixon extended a 20 minute visit to 30 minutes, meeting locals and voters. Nixon arrived in a large bus with reporters, joined by Halton West candidate Jack Lush. Local organizers hosted a coffee break with pipes and doughnuts as two students helped with placards.

The public school board will appeal to council for an addition to the M Z Bennett school to ease overcrowding at M Z Bennett and Robert Little. A 100 foot south end extension is proposed with gym, library, and a second floor housing three classrooms. Principal Elmer Smith will present a sketch at a special meeting before the council committee.
