One poliomyelitis case was reported to the Halton County Health Unit for the week ending September 2. The patient, a two year old girl from Trafalgar Township, was admitted to hospital on September 9 and diagnosed on September 19. She developed paralysis.

Acton con artists charged with eye operation scam

The two men, posing as specialists and talker, collected cash and fled as police searched for the suspects. The affair followed a quick hour long visit, and neighbors were urged to verify doctors and avoid strangers offering urgent treatments.

At the Ac ton Fall Fair in Guelph William Brant rolled a 1951 Ford half ton truck on Crewson's Corners Road. The vehicle ended on its side, leaning against Carl McIntyre Motors. Damages were about 500 dollars. Brant was alone and escaped serious injury. Constable Bradley investigated.
