Acton Bantams rallied from a 6-4 deficit in the bottom of the ninth, then won 8-7 in 12 innings to take a 1-0 lead over Thorold in the Ontario Bantam playdown. John Cunningham pitched steadily for Acton while Macoretta led Thorold with three hits.

Campbellville’s juvenile squad edged by Collingwood 4 to 2 in the Ontario finals. Roberts pitched well for Campbellville allowing six hits with nine strikeouts and no walks, while Hatton fanned eight with six walks. Campbellville committed nine errors, Collingwood two, as Sharpe and Cairn’s double produced both Campbellville runs.

They stayed at the College and heard Miss Anna P. Lewis announce the ACWW invitation to Ontario in 1933. Dr J D MacLachlan welcomed the group at Creelman Hall as Edna Jacques performed poetry and new officers were elected for 1951 52.

Four Acton players with the Lorne Scots Ken Allen Charles Kingsmill Gordon Lawson and George Smith joined hundreds of bandsmen for a massed brass concert at the C N E grandstand in Toronto Sunday evening September 16. Bandmaster A H Perrott conducted the massed groups wearing a blue Scotch uniform. The performance featured massed bugle military pipe and trumpet bands and was partly broadcast. The Lorne Scots Regimental Band returned home after the event which drew an overflow crowd and may perform in Toronto again when Prince Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh visit.
