Parkview A C Holds First Cross Country Chase
Parkview A C members completed their inaugural cross country run on October 22 over seven miles of roads hills and meadows with no major incidents. A slight facial scratch occurred as a member attempted to knock a tree down to locate the trail. The club plans to enroll thirteen new members, bringing total membership to thirty and increasing competition in upcoming events. A special meeting is set for 7 30 p m tonight.

In Welland a log rolled from a derrick car and struck John W Hawthorne and co worker Daniels during sewer work at Lock No 3. Knox Presbyterian Church Acton marked its eighty sixth anniversary with large morning and evening services. Rev. Davidson of Central Church Galt spoke at both services and led sermons drawn from John 18 34 and 2 Corinthians 3 2 3. The Baptist and United Church joined for the day and a big supper and concert followed, featuring performers from Mitchell Stratford and local musicians.

Jury Finds Driver Was Asleep in Fatal Aberfoyle Crash
A coroner's jury in Aberfoyle Town Hall found that Mrs. Maria Gilby of Fort Worth Texas died in a motor accident on October 16 near Aberfoyle on the Guelph Hamilton Highway. The car, driven by James Russell of Fergus, collided with a hydro pole and Russell was asleep at the wheel before the crash.

The Book Committee of Acton Free Library and staff chose splendid volumes in Toronto yesterday for Acton Library. Books will be numbered catalogued and available once they arrive. Georgetown Hockey Club officers were elected with Dr. R J Paul Jr as President and planned junior and intermediate teams for the O G I A series. A car driven by Bill Holloway left the highway near Crewsons Corners and went into a ditch eight feet deep causing damage to the vehicle and front axle.
