Rockwood Bank Raid Yields 2300 Theft Amid Panic
Two armed masked gunmen robbed the Royal Bank of Cann in Rockwood, taking about $2300. Provincial police blocked routes from the village as staff and manager T. C. Winlow were forced to the vault. The robbers warned staff not to resist while restraining fears of the two young female employees.

Mrs Schmidt Injured When Tire Blows on Highway
Mrs J Schmidt suffered two broken ribs when a tire blew on No 7 highway about two miles east of Acton. She was taken to St Josephs Hospital in Guelph. Mr J Schmidt and son of Rockwood were uninjured except for a few bruises.
