Erin Township Council Hikes Taxes and Sets Year End Dates
At the October meeting council passed a by law for an overdue tax charge with a penalty of one half of one percent per month on the balance for the year. A by law for nominating and electing officials was approved with nominations November 23 and elections December 3, 1951. A by law to amend road superintendent pay was discussed. The reeve attended the tax sale planning and a power rowers devices wage rate change was noted. A $40 donation to the Planning Match and a $300 grant to the Erin Township Federation of Agriculture were approved. Accounts showed general $5269, shrepac $107, relief $104.35, road $1084.12. Next meeting includes a Court of Revision on the 1952 assessment.
