Presbytery Sunday School Rally Draws 600 At St Pauls United
About 600 delegates representing 31 Sunday Schools attended Holston Presbytery’s first Sunday School Rally at St Pauls United Church Mion. Rev Douglas Smith of St Josephs Hamilton spoke on Growing up with Zion United Church Hamilton as soloist. St Pauls orchestra led by Mrs C K Stevenson provided music. Churchill Sunday School earned a banner for 900 percent of enrolment and will defend it next year.

Friendly Circle Hosts Halloween Frolic With Ghosts and Prizes
The Friendly Circle held its annual Halloween frolic at Mrs Nessett’s home on Acton Street last Wednesday. About 45 members appeared in costumes, with prizes awarded for best comic, most unusual, prettiest, and seasonal outfits. Group leaders Mrs Elmer Smith and Mrs Duby led a ghost tale and games followed by a devotional period and lunch.

Mr. D. Dawkins signed a contract with Acton Public Utilities Commission for wiring the pumping station to be completed by November 5th if motors and equipment are installed by Mr. Muckart who handles the plumbing contract. The engineer will speed the work and a minor change in warming installation was authorized. The secretary and chairmen signed with Bell Telephone Co for 36 poles at a cost of 358 dollars and Micro Plastics attended seeking changeover to 550 power. Georgetown Hydro will supply poles for the sewage plant as Acton PUC awaits arrival of their poles.
