Trafalgar planners push industrial rezoning west of Twelve Mile Creek
The Trafalgar Planning Board backs industrial rezoning for a triangle west of Twelve Mile Creek bordered by the Queen Elizabeth Highway and the Nelson Trafalgar boundary. The wooded ravine and Burkholder bush would be protected within a conservation zone, with the bank boundary at least 200 feet from the top. The board also notes residential two acre lots could exist within the zone’s limits and urges coordination with the Conservation Authority and provincial department. The conservation plan already calls for a minimum 280 foot-wide wooded area adjacent to the ravine. The article notes Canada’s 1867 founding of the Dominion by four provinces.
