Memorial Service in Nassagaweya Wednesday
A Remembrance Day service was held in Nassagaweya township under local council and the Acton district Legion. About one person from Acton attended and laid poppies at the cenotaph as Co Lindsay saluted. The Last Post and Reveille were sounded by Norman Braida. A provincial wreath was placed by Stan Hall MP, and local wreaths honored those who gave their lives for freedom. Reverend Roe Ponti gave the memorial address at Nassagaweya Presbyterian Church.

School Board Bars Pupils From County Music Festival
The Actan public school board voted to keep pupils from participating in the annual county musical festival. Trustees approved recent school landscaping and bulbs for spring beds around the school. Principal GW McKenzie reported piano tuning is arranged and funds allocated for blackboard and other school needs. Y M C A Board Receives Major Donations in October Meeting
At the YMCA meeting on Monday October 26 the YMCA board received two cheques. Tom Watson presented 900 dollars from the Y’s Men and Mrs J McGladrey presented 261.28 from the Ladies Auxiliary for renovations to the Y front hall and for shower and locker room work. Funds fed a demantling bale project and boy girl programs.

War Dead Remembered in Acton Civic Services at Cenotaph
