Deed Proposed for Pioneers Cemetery to Municipality

Council plans to deed the Pioneers Cemetery to the town with a $100 payment to complete improvements. Agenda noted hockey club use of the arena for training, lighting upgrades for emergencies, and several finance and drainage items. Remembrance Day Services Planned for Acton Rockwood Nassagaweya

Acton Rockwood and Nassagaweya plan Remembrance Day ceremonies with outdoor brief services in front of Soldiers Monuments and joined church services. Acton gathers at 10 55 a m with veterans parading in unit berets, then a united church service. Rockwood holds services at 2 pm at St Johns Anglican Church and a brief Soldiers Monument service. Nassagaweya convenes at 4 pm in Nassagaweya Presbyterian Church followed by a monument service. Printed programs feature Soldiers Monument depictions.

Roof Sheeting Nears Completion on Memorial Building

92nd Anniversary of Acton Baptist Church

The 92nd anniversary service at Acton Baptist Church drew a full house with Rev. C L Poole and Dr. MacNeill speaking on living a life dead to sin yet alive unto God. Bayley of Hamilton entertained and the day traced the church’s 1842 meeting roots, 1856 start, and 1899 edifice.
