King's Birthday Holiday Adds Day Off For Local School
The local school will enjoy an extra holiday next Monday to celebrate the King's Birthday. A repair at the Legion-fall on Wali Street was completed this week. At the new Wago disposal plant south of Acton, mechanical equipment is being installed and electric sump pumps are in use despite some plugs being pulled, delaying work. Edward Charles Russell, formerly of Acton, earned an Honors History BA from UBC and received a $100 Native Daughters of British Columbia scholarship for early B.C. history research. Plans remain to have Very Rev W F Jackson present for the St Alban's Parish Hall corner stone laying mid June.
