A Monday night motion in North Halton proposed dissolving a single central high school plan and funding a new Georgetown school to serve the north while upgrading Milton to serve the south. The meeting at Stewarttown Hall May 26 was postponed, with discussion to continue at Esquesing Township Hall.

Decision Changed At Case Appeal
John Winters of Acton opened a car door causing Rod Ryder to be struck by a Gray Conch bus on a wet September 7, 1910. The Ontario Appeal Court held Winters fully responsible, overturning a jury finding that Gray Coach Lines Ltd. bore 100 percent negligence. Mrs Ryder and her three children were awarded 34,000 dollars. Winters must pay.

Plane shot at in Milton area injures passenger
In cedar springs near Milton a Harvard aircraft at 300 feet was struck by a bullet. Thomas Lowe of Hamilton, legal adviser to Reserve Squadron 424, was wounded in the left shoulder as the plexiglass was pierced. Police searched the area. a motorist seen firing at groundhogs is suspected.

Water service changes discussed at Public Utilities meeting
Wm McLeod attended the Public Utilities Commission Tuesday evening to request discontinuance of one water service for his Mill Street apartment block and noted only one family resides at Main Street South with two services, the upper unit unrented. Fred McCutcheon asked about hydro service for his Arthur Street home and a pole move in front of his property. The Commission agreed to survey the district while the Council asked for continuation of the Main Street water main to the new well. Superintendent Lambert reported hydrant and shut-off valve installations at Agnes and Main Streets. Plans for water service to the new site are being formulated.

Horticulture Theme Marks Nassagaweya W I May Meeting

Drunk Driver Sentenced in Milton Police Court
In Milton Police Court last week Magistrate J. M. Langdon sentenced John Parr, 53, of AR 2 Mono Mills to 15 days in jail with a three month license suspension after a collision on No. 7 Highway with Robert Lavoie of Georgetown. Parr’s car was impounded. no injuries, damage about 500 dollars. Langdon also fined Tom Harris, RR 4 Acton, ten dollars and costs for having liquor in a place other than his residence.

Water shut off Sunday to move a damaged hydrant at Main and Agnes streets. Renovations on Agnes from Main to Willow left the hydrant in the road. Workmen drained the pit with a hand pump and restored water by Sunday afternoon.

Halton Music Festival Elects Officers for 1951 52
At Milton Public School on May 18 the Halton Music Festival annual meeting elected officers for 1951 52 led by President Ruth Evans Georgetown and vice presidents for Trafalgar Nelson Nassagaweya with Mrs Clarence Ford Mrs Roy Coulter and Mrs L Cramford. The secretary treasurer is Mrs Allan Clements QR RR 3 Milton and assistant secretary is Mrs Ford Rogers Bronte. Committee members include Mrs W McArthur and Mrs R Coulter.
